Community Involvement

William R. Boyce is a 2nd term councilman in Old Tappan and proudly serves as the council liaison to the Planning Board, Environmental Commission, Golf Course, Veterans’ Committee, and Scouts. Annually, he helps set the town’s budget with the other council members reviewing all the budget requests for the town’s many departments, commissions, and committees. Some of Bill’s proudest achievements include establishing a second community garden, initiating a Veteran’s Committee, reimagining the Golf Course management to be a public/private partnership, and advocating for the first Old Tappan Tree Ordinance.

Biosphere Landscape Architecture is also committed to maintaining open spaces in suburban contexts by volunteering for the Adopt-a-Highway Program.

Biosphere Landscape Architecture is a proud supporter of the Greenburgh Nature Center. Visitors to the Center can enjoy environmentally-focused education programs that connect them with nature in meaningful ways. Programs such as Garden Grown Scholars broaden a child’s imagination with hands-on gardening experiences. The Zero Waste School initiatives empower students with the tools and information needed to create a sustainable future.
